History of the team: Built my first
funny car in 2001, the GTO is the fourth different funny car we
have run.
Drag Racing history: Was hooked on
drag racing as a young child, couldn't wait to race. Started racing
at 16 yrs old at Edmonton International Speedway, the cars kept
getting faster, by age 18 was running 9.55 @ 155mph. Owned various
diferent types of cars over the years and finally decided to settle
in with the local Nostalgia funny car guys in Edmonton. Best run
in a funny car 6.00 @ 233mph.
Career highlights in funny car and other
classes. Built the "BAD GOAT" GTO in the winter
of 2009, finished it in time for the Powerama Car Show. Won Best
of Class, Most Outstanding Competition Vehicle and Best Race Engine
Current racing plans:
Rrace with the RMNFCA through
out western Canada in the summer of 2010, then end the season
back in Bakersfield at the 2012 Hot Rod Reunion.
Future goals: To winn the 2012 RMNFC
championshipo. I have finished in second place twice.
Favorite racing moment: Winning my
first race at age 18, the runner up complained that the tree didn't
work right so they re-ran the final and I beat him again. Driving
to Anchorage Alaska with Darrell Webb to put on an exhibition
show. Arrived in town to see the posters saying "The Big
Boys are in Town" Quarter Mile Burnouts!!!! Also running
in Bakersfield at the Hot Rod Reunion 2009.
Heroes of the sport: Met John Force
on a Flight to Edmonton, he was coming to a fund raising banquet
for our new race track so visited and hung out with him on the
plane. When I got to the banquet I was standing with a bunch of
racers socializing when John walked up and said "Hey Cal,
hows it going" you should have seen the looks on the faces
of all my racing buddies.
